NEW: The Last Shadow Puppets – Aviation

With just a fortnight remaining until the release of ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’ it was about time we started to get more of a flavour of what to expect from the return of the illustrious Last Shadow Puppets. Kicking up the hype surrounding the long awaited LP, Turner and Kane  have certainly had a busy week dropping title track ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’ and Now ‘Aviation’ how did they have time to dig their own graves?

‘Aviation’ has that Puppety sound we all lusted over back in 2006, but with the added maturity both musically and inspirationally. The story like narrative of the track has the ability to transcend beyond the lyrics and the music video is a perfect example of this. If you watch with music video for ‘Aviation’ you will immediately connect it with ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’ because of the story told by director Saam Farahmand, but ultimately these tracks are not a part A and B to one another but more of a soundtrack to Farahmand’s vision.

The song leads with Kane’s vocals, accompanied by an on the run guitar riff and Turner’s effortless vocals join in for the hook, giving that swooning quality we simply cannot resist. Stringing words together that make no sense and playing on words is a favourite of Kane and Turner, leaving their music open to interpretation. Is it possible that ‘Aviation’ is a tale of recreational narcotics?

The Last Shadow Puppets have given us the perfect sample of what to expect from the forthcoming LP. From the rip roaring ‘Bad Habits’ to the hazy dream like ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’ and finally the ripened Puppety sound in ‘Aviation’. I can’t wait to see what else The Last Shadow Puppets have in store for us on April 1st.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see The Last Shadow Puppets, who knows when it could happen again.
