2013, is gonna be a good year for music, mainly because of three sisters who make up the band HAIM. January’s NME cover stars have been dubbed as the ones to watch this years along with the likes of Palma Violets who they shared the cover with
These girls have music in their veins, as from a young age they were in a band with their parents. Eventually the siblings all broke away and began writing their own music, with the addition of drummer Dan Hutton; Alana, Este and Danielle make the band HAIM, who have been together since 2006.It wasn’t until the summer of 2012 when they released the Forever E.P and it didn’t take them long to get spotted getting on the music radar, these guys are full of talent.
At the start of the year HAIM played the Maida Vale sessions were they performed Falling, and what a track that was. The band have announced that Falling is to be the next single set for release to follow-up the track Don’t save me. Utterly amazing Falling is, I fell for this track within the first few bars of the song. With some people comparing them to a modern day Fleetwood Mac, the band say that they are also heavily influenced by nineties pop. They beats they are make are fun and fresh just what the music industry is missing. I feel HAIM will appeal to a lot of people as they are quiet easy listening and you can dance to it, a guitar band with melodic pop like beats, whats not to love.
With the five tracks we have already heard; Dont save me, Send me down, Forever, Better off, Go Slow and now Falling we just can’t wait for the debut album to come out. It may take them a while to write a songs however they are very meticulous and release it when they feel its ‘perfect’ and are happy with it. Why do you think it took them so long release the first single. Till then we have to live of the E.PS these girls are worth the wait lets hope they don’t take another year to dazzle us. HAIM told NME that they aim to get the debut LP out by late spring. But lets not hold our breath.
If you haven’t already check them out do.
